Purchasing prints & other related items
 
Photographs in the galleries are available either as mounted fine art prints only (unframed) or professionaly framed by the photographer in high quality wooden frames. Unframed prints are supplied without any hanging attachments. Unframed option is provided for people who want to have the the purchased work framed later.

How to buy:
Click on any of the image thumbnails for details. The default price shown is for a 12 x 8 in. print window mounted on a 16 x 12 in. archival quality mountboard. Choose the print size and frame style (or 'unframed' if you don't want the print framed) and click on "Add to cart" button. You may remove items or change the quantities on the shopping cart page.
If you don't want to buy the item this time, you may save it to your 'Wishlist'' and come back to it later (accessible through you account management page). If you want to let someone else know about this work too, click the 'Tell a friend' button. A link to this page with your personal greeting will be sent to the recipient.

Please be aware that due to inherent differences among computer monitors the print you receive will not be an exact match with what you see on the screen. Also, the colours on the prints are more vibrant with shadow and highlight detail not displayable on the screen. The watermark (where present) is only applied to the images on the website . It doesn't appear on the prints. Images on this website are optimised for viewing on the screen and are low resolution versions of the high quality originals.

Handling and packaging fee of 5 € per order and postal charges are added at the time of checkout and are based on the total weight of the order. Postal charges are set as accurately as possible to reflect the actual fees charged by the postal services.

Minimum order amount of 20 € applies.

Important! Customers outside Europe:
Delivery for online orders is currently available to Europe only.
Customers outside Europe must contact sales@photopolaris.co.uk before placing the order. This is required to accurately calculate the postage cost for you.

Why I need to register?
In order for us to process your your order as effciently as possible, in addtition to making your whole shopping experience as smooth as possible, you need to create an "account" with us. Your account is used to store some basic information we need to process your order, such as your name, email and delivery address. This information is only used with the ordering process and is NEVER released to anyone else.
You can then use your account center to see your previous orders, wish lists, return items (see Returns section further down on this page) and much more. No financial information is stored on our database. Your credit card details are only used on the secure PayPal payment page.

Discounts, offers and special requirements:
From time to time, special discounts and offers will be made available to customers. These are advertised on the home page.

If you intend to place a large order, discounts will be available. These are considered individually

Custom work such as prints made to non-standard sizes will be carried out to your specification.
Please send your requirements to sales@photopolaris.co.uk to obtain a quotation.
Not for wholesale customers (status will be checked). Re-distribution of any prints or other products is strictly prohibited!

 

 

Payments

You can use any major credit card or alternatively use your PayPal account, if you have one.
All credit card payments are processed by PayPal. You are never asked to enter your credit card details on our website. Your credit card details are only used on the secure PayPal payment page.

The name on your credit card statement shows 'PAYPAL *' followed by either 'P Vermasvuo' or 'Pekka Vermasvuo' depending on your card issuer.

Once the payment is processed you will receive an Order Confirmation via email from sales@photopolaris.co.uk.
If this doesn't appear in your inbox within two hours make sure to check it hasn't gone to your 'Spam' folder. Some email systems too easliy consider legitimate emails as spam.

If your name or address contains non-standard (non-English) characters such as 'Ä' , and 'Ö' or other special characters, you may get the following "error" on PayPal's payment page:
"You have entered unsupported characters for this field."
This is a known issue and you may ignore this error. This doesn't affect the payment process.

 

 

Delivery

 

All items are dispatched from Finland.

You can choose from two delivery options at the checkout. Both of these can be tracked online:
Priority Mail, 3-7 days within EU (Cheaper)
Express Global Mail (EMS), 1-3 days within EU (More expensive)

Domestic (Finland) deliveries are sent via Finnish Postal Service as standard parcel.

Orders which contain no bigger items than 9x6 in. mounted print(s) and weigh no more than 1kg will be sent as large letter instead of parcel (not applicable to EMS service).

Since all art work is made to order, please allow up to 14-21 days for delivery. Should there be any delays you will be notified by email at the earliest stage. Pekka Vermasvuo cannot be held responsible for any third party delays such as delays caused by postal services.

E-mail notification with international parcel tracking number will be sent to you once your order has been dispatched. Make sure to check your 'Spam' folder. Some email systems can accidentally consider legitimate emails as spam.

If you have any query about the delivery, please contact sales@photopolaris.co.uk. Please quote the Order Number from the Order Confirmation email sent automatically from sales@photopolaris.co.uk.

 

Returns

 

All prints are made to high standards, including mounting and framing, individually made to order by the photographer.
However, if the artwork doesn't meet your expectations, you are entitled for full refund less any returns cost.
For any framed artwork a refund of 70% of the purchase price applies (less any returns cost).
Please note that only items in perfect condition returned in their original packaging are accepted.
Returns must be done within 14 days.

If the item is damaged during transit a replacement will be sent at no extra cost.
Any claims for damage must be made within 7 days after receiving the items.

How to claim:
1) Login to your account on this web site
2) Open your previous orders
3) Go to the order details of the order you need to return (partial returns are possible)
4) Select "Request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)" in How to Return a Product section at the bottom of the order page and follow the intsructions on the screen.
5) You will receive instructions once your request has been processed
